Materials
- Upper
- Suede-effect fabric made with 80% post-consumer recycled polyester.
- Lining and reinforcements
- The lining contains 80% recycled polyester. The reinforcements help the shoe keep its shape.
- Insole
- Over time, the cork moulds to the shape of your foot.
- Outsole
- A blend of rubber from old soles and racing tyres used at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
- Laces
- The laces are made from recycled PET from plastic bottles recovered from the sea.

Even after their final lap, racing tyres still have something to give. We grind the rubber into small flecks you can see in the sole.

For this collaboration with the Circuit, BALAO combines tyre rubber with recycled and bio-based materials in a sneaker made for everyday wear.
Handmade in Portugal.
Our team designs the shoe in Belgium. The craftspeople at our partner workshop assemble each pair by hand and take care of the finishing touches, right down to the last stitch.

Yes. If your pair isn’t right for you, you can return it for a refund or exchange it for a different size. Both are free. We set aside a few extra pairs for size exchanges. To arrange yours, contact BALAO.
